Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-2).
I recently read a book entitled… well, I’ll just show you the cover…
What’s The Difference In A Millennium and a Millipede?
HHHHMMMHHM… a topic of such importance should have a cover that looks like a leather-bound King James Version of the Bible. Instead, the book features “1,000” and the word “millipede” in comedic art that would make Stan Lee of Marvel Comics proud.
Dr. David Reagan explains the title…
The title of this book comes from experiences I have had in discussing end-time Bible prophecy with many people over the past 40 years. Often, the person I was talking to (usually someone who wanted to argue with me) would exhibit so much ignorance of Bible prophecy that I would be tempted to ask them, “Do you know the difference in a Millennium and a Millipede?”
It’s a good question to ask – do you know the difference?
This book gives a clear explanation on what the Bible teaches about the end-times. A focal point for end-times in the Bible is the millennium and “your” view of the millennium should dictate how you live today.
As Dr. Reagan explains…
The tragic result of all this ignorance of Bible prophecy is that even though we are definitely living in the season of the Lord’s return, the people in the pews are not being alerted to that fact.
He continues…
Christians need to know that for the first time in history, ALL the signs of the time have converged, clearly pointing to the fact that we are living on borrowed time.
And…
Christians also need to know that the growing immorality and anarchy they are witnessing in America and worldwide is clearly prophesied as one of the characteristics of the end- times, pointing to the Lord’s imminent return.
And gives this warning…
Instead, the chaos is causing many Christians to question whether or not God is for real. After all, if He is, then why isn’t He doing something about the evil that is expanding exponentially in both scope and depth? Bible prophecy answers these questions.
The book continues, clearly explaining end-times teaching in the Bible, presenting a very clear and concise understand of eschatology (big word for “end-times”), and points toward the hope that we have in Jesus.
A lot of great teaching in this book, but I’m out of space with this Interruption. You will have to wait till tomorrow as I will write Interruption #702… Millipede: Part 2.
Unless the Lord comes back first! I hope so.
Interruptions will feature the Book of Revelation in 2022. Read #280, #281, #295, #307, #316, #333, #343, #364, #380, #395, #406, #432, #433, #559, #566, and #596 at grantedwardsauthor.com for previous blogs on Revelation. I’m writing 12 more blogs on Revelation this next year.
