Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

You are asleep and a noise wakes you up.
Someone is in your house. I have friends so well trained in the art of physical warfare – having knives, several types of handguns, even more varieties of shotguns and semi-automatic rifles all next to their bed – that they are prepared!
Me on the other hand? I have a metal flashlight next to my bed that does not work (I last checked the batteries in 2015).
Read carefully: there is someone prowling around in your house right now.
Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in your faith. 1 Peter 5:8-9
This roaring lion follows you and those you love throughout your day. All hand grenades and sniper rifles will prove ineffective in stopping the impending assault. You do, however, have faith.
Every night as I go to sleep, I pray the blood of Jesus around my house and around my life. I name my children and grandchildren, all to be covered in the blood of Jesus. It’s a simple prayer:
I proclaim the blood of Jesus to cover and protect…
Am I stupid and ignorant believing in myths? Are you stupid and ignorant not understanding the true nature of what is happening today?
Is the Apostle Paul dumb by writing this?
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
The Bible teaches a spiritual dimension in our lives – unseen, but more deadly than a prowler in a dark ski mask. Prepared for one type of burglar, but ignoring the other more deadly attacker doesn’t make sense.
That’s what we do too often. Ignore the real threats. Compromise from lack of understanding. Be vulnerable and victims while an able defense sits useless.
The best weapon in our arsenal is the blood of Jesus. We use it by faith.
The accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 12:10-11
In Exodus 12, the Angel of Death passed over houses with blood on the mantel of the outside door. We are saved by the blood of Jesus. Hebrews says, “How much more shall the blood of Jesus…?” (9:14)
Theologically, I could explain the technical details of the blood of Christ in our salvation. Some would understand, some not, and most of us would forget.
Interruptions today is not about Biblical expertise but action. You are being attacked; the evil one prowls about now, right now. You don’t need to understand the chemical reaction of gunpowder or the nuances of exegesis to use your weapon.
Start claiming the blood of Jesus. Imagine the blood covering someone who is sick. Ask for the blood to flow over your fever. Claim the blood of Jesus to surround your house.
The weapons that we have are assembled by God and enabled by the Spirit to protect and destroy the physical, emotional, and spiritual attacks against you. 2 Corinthians 10:4 OGV
Use your weapons.
Another friend, when I ask him if he has prayed today, always tells me, “Locked and loaded!” I’m uneducated in the modern lingo of guns. However, if I were a prowler, I would avoid his house and break into the one next door.
