Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

But the word of the Lord endures forever (1 Peter 1:25, NASB1995).

Geology, archeology, and dermatology.

I love the Word of God.

The Bible says that the Word of God endures forever, and that Jesus is the Word (John 1:1)!

The Greek word for “word” is “logos.” What you may not know is how “logos” permeates almost every activity in our lives through most branches of science.

Let me explain.

Those of us who love God study “theology,” which, in the Greek, is “Theos” or “God” and “logos” or “word”—with the exact meaning of “theology” being “words about God.”

I believe God bears witness to Himself and to Christ in our language.

This is a source of unending joy for me, that almost all disciplines of study end in the word “ology” which comes from the Greek word “logos” and “Logos” is the name of Jesus in the Bible.

Yes, almost all scientific disciplines are named after Jesus – from astrology to zoology.  Hundreds of “-ology'” giving glory to God.

I know I’m out on a ledge with this thought.

But when an eminent professor of psychology or paleontology (“psyche” or “soul” and “paleon” or “ancient fossils”) says there is no God – it’s ironic that the name of their discipline of study has the name of Jesus embedded in it.

Who says that God doesn’t have a sense of humor?

I recognize that some right now consider this dialogue to be garbage, but the joke is on you, because there is a field of study called…

You guessed it… garbology or “garbage” – a French word indicating entrails or the waste parts of animals. Agreed, not a Greek word, but think of the French and for that matter… all of us… before we accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.

HHHHMMMHHM!

Let’s get serious for a moment.

I am a lover of words or a philologist. As I read the Bible, more so than reading a novel or an end times (eschatology) book, I find peace or the presence of God. I feel Him guiding me and giving me strength!

That is the Spirit of God or pneumatology (“pnuema” or “spirit”)

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

I make no apology for Interruptions today. I do pray that you understand soteriology (study of salvation).

The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14).

Sociology (social studies), meteorology (study of weather), enology (study of wines) and yes, webology (associated with the world wide web and not spiders), all have logos!

I hope that you do too.
