Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think (Ephesians 3:20, NLT).
The word for “power” in the New Testament originates from the Greek word “dunamis.” And yes, we get the word “dynamite” from this word too.
In the New Testament we find “power” mentioned about 120 times often in reference to the Spirit in our lives. Throughout Scripture we are promised power for spiritual growth, miracles, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and even power for hope.
I want more power in my life. How about you? I need more power in my life. How about you?
Let’s try this “power of God” life hack.
Read carefully the following words of Jesus. . .
I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you (Matthew 18:19).
Our Lord promises that when we (two or three) pray in unity, then our Father in heaven will do anything that we ask. I’ve practiced “agreeing” prayer during prayer meetings — two or three of us praying together for provision, miracles, finances, and other needs.
Okay, I haven’t said anything new yet, but what happens if no less a person than the Apostle Paul agrees with us when asking for a release of God’s power? I would love to pray with you, but if I can participate in “agreeing” prayer with Paul then, sorry, off you go to another prayer meeting!
Agreeing prayer with the Apostle Paul — there isn’t a better power of God hack!
And it’s possible as Paul prays four times in his letters that we would know or experience the power of God. . .
I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him (Ephesians 1:19).
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you (Ephesians 3:16).
We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power (Colossians 1:11a).
May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do (2 Thessalonians 1:11b).
Let’s try this prayer for the next couple of weeks. . .
Father in heaven, I’m in agreement with the Apostle Paul, when he asks You to release power in me and the church right now. Let’s see sinners overcome their sin, captives set free, the sick healed, and thousands come to know Jesus.
God, in agreement with the Apostle Paul in Your Word, please release Your power in this area ______________ [write specifically] of my life!
In the name of Jesus, amen!
That’s my “power of God” life hack — agreeing prayer with the Apostle Paul.
