Three Bible Need-To-Knows

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16, ESV).

Through the years, I’ve recognized three things that prove to me the inspiration of the Bible.

I don’t hear other writers, preachers, or social media pundits discuss the three “need-to-knows,” — so in the spirit of Interruptions, they are listed below.

Please note that I’m using a small “s” for the phrase “spirit of Interruptions” as in commonly used practices with lots of Pastor Grant’s opinion, and not a capital ‘S’ as in Spirit-inspired, absolute Truth and God’s Word!

I just pray that my small “s” will sync with the big “S” in all that I write!

Now, to the three “need-to-knows.”

First:  Presence

I had a night of worry this past week. When I sat down to read my Bible at 4 a.m., my mind was still treadmilling. I began reading the Bible, and my first verse was Leviticus 2:1 . . .

When anyone brings a grain offering as an offering to the Lord, his offering shall be of fine flour. He shall pour oil on it and put frankincense on it (ESV).

As soon as I read this verse, my worry evaporated.

It 0bviously wasn’t the topic of grain offerings, or the same thing would happen if I read the Farmer’s Weekly Magazine. It was the Spirit of God or big “S” coming through His inspired Word.

If reading about grain offerings in the Bible helps, imagine what 1 Peter 5:7 can do . . .

Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (ESV).

Second:  Professional

All current workable business strategies were stolen from the Bible, which was written over 2,000 years ago.

If you read Ephesians 4:11-13 correctly, you will note visionary leadership (apostles), strategic planning (prophet), sales (evangelist), human resources (pastor), along with policies and procedures (teacher).

These concepts, used to describe church leadership in the book of Ephesians, are the first time in history that these organizational practices are mentioned together.

Successful businesses today emulate what the Bible (inspired by the big “S”) taught in the first century.

Third:  Prophetic

The global big data and business analytics industries in the world today have a combined market value of over 160 billion dollars.

Why do businesses spend so much money on data, consulting, AI, and forecasting analytics? They attempt to predict the future of market trends to enable greater profit.

The Bible has about 600 prophecies about the end-times — and it’s all free!

In the Word of God, we learn about the current conflicts in Israel, the last days’ negative influence of Russia, a coming economic collapse that should direct our investment strategies, and finally, a warning that no one can find peace in money.

Wow! Presence, Professional, and Prophetic — let’s start reading the Bible more to find peace, success, and happiness!

As Psalm 1 reads . . .

They delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season (vv. 2-3, NLT).

I hope you enjoyed these three “need-to-knows” about the Bible. Yes, they are my little “s” ideas, but I think firmly planted in the big “S.”
