Turn on Your Alarm System

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers.  Be on guard. The evil one prowls about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour.  Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.

All of the above are verses from the Bible. All indicate that a great enemy has targeted you for defeat.  Paul writes in Ephesians 6 that you must take up the full armor of God so that you can resist in the evil day.

Let’s put two thoughts together — a devil prowling about seeking to devour you and a focal point of his attack on you described as an evil day.

This will be your moment of victory or defeat!

I can’t warn you enough, you will encounter an evil day.  A moment of extreme temptation — planned and executed by one of the greatest strategist to ever exist. Focusing on you.  Your weaknesses are known, your parents weaknesses are known, your grandparents weaknesses are known.  Some temptation is generations in the making.

You are defenseless, you are not wise enough, and don’t fool yourself that you can’t stand alone.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.  Greater is Jesus and the Spirit in you than he who is in the world. The weapons of our warfare are divinely powerful to demolish strongholds.

All of the above scriptures are also from the Bible.  You are not alone.

The Bible teaches to keep your ‘Warfare Alarm’ system updated and turned on.  Your victory in your day of evil is assured and all that you need to thrive in extreme spiritual warfare is provided through the blood of Jesus.

Every night I turn on the burglar alarm system in my house — to protect against a potential break-in. I’ve lived in my house for over 20 years and it hasn’t happened yet.  I’ve experienced hundreds of attacks and evil days in the same 20 years.

Praise God for His alarm system.  Here is how I turn it on…

  • I ask God to make me aware — every day will be a series of opportunities for victory or defeat.  Awareness is a discipline taught by the Spirit.
  • Attacks often begin with a thought implanted. This idea or fear just appears — you resist or you succumb.  Romans 13:14 and Romans 12:2 should be memorized as weapons against victimizing thoughts. Learn to take these attacking thoughts captive. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
  • Focus on being thankful and rejoicing at the beginning of each day and throughout that day.  Negative thinking leaves the door of your house open with a sign saying ‘Enter Here’! The evil one will be first through the door.

Culture/Church/You — the evil day is upon us in ways never imagined.  Our victory is assured.  The Bible predicts an end-time revival.

The Apostle Peter writes that after you have been attacked, God will perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

Please turn on your alarm.
